After lunch, we will proceed to Dambulla to explore the incredible Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as The Golden Temple. Perched atop a towering rock, this ancient UNESCO World Heritage Site is over 2,000 years old and a must-see for history buffs. Having the largest number of Buddha statues, this place was first used as a refuge for King Valagambahu in the 1st Century B.C. Lastly, proceed to dinner and end the day at your hotel.
After breakfast, proceed to Polonnaruwa to explore Ancient City of Polonnaruwa. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the once thriving commercial and religious centre on the central plains of Sri Lanka was ruled by the Kings from Polonnaruwa 800 years ago. From here, free-marketers haggled for rare goods and the pious prayed at any one of its numerous temples. The glories of that age can be found in archaeological treasures which give a pretty good idea of how the city looked in its heyday. Later, proceed to Hiriwaduna Village in Habarana, a beautiful rural area in Habarana city.
Take a Bullock cart ride near to the village pond where you will experience a boat ride along the rural village. After short walk within the paddy fields & agricultural cultivation, arrive at a village house where you will have a cookery demonstration & taste a delicious Sri Lankan Lunch. Thereafter, we’ll visit the awe-inspiring . Known as the “fortress in the sky,” this iconic site offers breathtaking views and a rich backstory. A true highlight of Sri Lanka! On its summit once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. End the day with dinner and a good night’s rest at your hotel.
We’re headed to Kandy today! First, we’ll stop at a serene spice garden to learn about Sri Lanka’s famous cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper. You can even grab some fresh spices to take home. Once in Kandy, explore the city’s treasures on a guided tour. Highlights include Upper Lake Drive, Market Square, the Kandyan Arts and Crafts Industrial Centre, and a gem factory.
The day’s highlight is a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, home to a revered tooth of Buddha brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century. Hidden from sacrilegious hands in an Orissan princess’ hair, the Relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka and it is considered Sri Lanka’s most prized possession. As evening falls, enjoy a dazzling cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dances
After breakfast, we will visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, home to over 4,000 different species of plants. Among its highlights are 10,000 tropical timber trees - mature, lofty giants that dominate the landscape. Other notable attractions include the Giant Bamboo of Burma, which is capable of growing up to 40 metres tall.
Next, we head to Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as Sri Lanka’s “Little England.” Nestled among mountains, valleys, waterfalls, and tea plantations, this picturesque town evokes the feeling of an English spring, with its cool climate and charming scenery. Upon arrival, visit a tea plantation and factory to learn how the world-famous Ceylon tea is produced, followed by a tea-tasting experience.
End the day with a relaxing stroll through Victoria Park, a beautifully landscaped garden filled with colourful blooms and a haven for birdwatchers

The train ride from Nan Oya to Ella is one of the most scenic and picturesque train journeys in not only just Sri Lanka but the world. Enjoy a set menu lunch pack onboard the train before you arrive in Ella, where pure natural beauty, jaw dropping waterfalls, greenery, and rolling hills await. With views untouched by human eyes, Ella is the perfect place to go to if one wants to refresh the mind. Next, visit The Nine Arch Bridge, also known as the Bridge in the Sky. Locally known as ‘Ahas Namaye Palama’, meaning nine skies bridge in Sinhala, the name derives from the visual experience that awaits your very eyes. Upon arrival at Ella station, proceed to Yala for dinner and spend the night at your hotel
Proceed for a game drive at Yala National Park in the early morning. Situated in the south-east corner of the island, Yala is home to the greatest variety of Sri Lanka’s wildlife. Its diverse habitats provide shelter for many species, including sloth bears, leopards, wild buffalo, spotted deer, mongooses, and herds of elephants.
After breakfast, proceed to Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, originally built by the Portuguese and later further developed by the Dutch and the British. The fort covers nearly 4 square kilometres and is protected by 12 bastions and connecting ramparts.
During the early 18th century, the Old Dutch Gate served as the main entrance to the fort. Subsequently, the British-built Main Gate, which is still in use today, was constructed. Notable buildings within the fort include the Dutch Reformed Church, All Saints’ Church, Amangalla Hotel (formerly the New Oriental Hotel), as well as the lighthouse and bell tower. The Dutch also introduced an innovative tide-based sewage system within the fort.
A maze of narrow streets lined with houses and shops bearing Dutch names still remains. End the day by proceeding to your beach resort for an overnight stay.
After breakfast at leisure, enjoy an optional boat ride along the Madu River. Take a speedboat ride through the scenic Madu River wetland estuary, which spreads over 900 hectares, of which 770 hectares are covered by water, and is home to 64 islands. This boat ride offers a wonderful opportunity to observe the region’s complex wetland ecosystem, a Ramsar-protected wetland and one of the last remaining pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka.
Journey past vast mangrove forests, gliding beneath natural forest tunnels that curve gracefully over the waterway. Take in the rich biodiversity of the Madu River and its surrounding islands, which boast hundreds of bird species, plants, fish, and wildlife.
Later, depart for Colombo, the capital city of Sri Lanka, and enjoy a city drive through its bustling commercial districts and the tree-lined residential area of Cinnamon Gardens. Visit Fort, the former British administrative centre and military garrison, and Sea Street, home to a Hindu temple renowned for its intricate stone carvings. Continue to the BMICH, view the replica of the Avukana Buddha, and visit Independence Square.
