After breakfast, begin your exploration of Almaty, a city beautifully surrounded by the snow-capped Tian Shan Mountains. Start with a visit to Panfilov Park, one of the city's most significant green spaces, where you will see the magnificent Ascension Cathedral, an impressive wooden Orthodox church built in the early 20th century. Continue to the Memorial of Glory and the Eternal Flame, commemorating those who lost their lives during World War II. Proceed to the Green Bazaar, a lively traditional market where locals shop for fresh produce, dried fruits, nuts, spices and regional delicacies. Continue to Republic Square, the main civic square of Almaty, and see the Independence Monument. In the afternoon, take a cable car ride up Kok-Tobe Hill, one of Almaty's most popular viewpoints, offering sweeping panoramic views over the city and the surrounding mountains. Enjoy some free time at Kok-Tobe before returning to the hotel. Evening is at leisure.
After breakfast, travel into the spectacular Ile-Alatau mountain area to visit Medeu, one of the world's highest-altitude outdoor skating rinks and a popular recreational area for Almaty residents. Continue by cable car towards Shymbulak Mountain Resort, situated high in the Tian Shan Mountains. As the cable car climbs, enjoy beautiful views of the mountain valleys and surrounding peaks. At the resort, take time to appreciate the fresh mountain air, enjoy the scenery and capture photographs against the dramatic alpine landscape. Depending on the season and operating conditions, there may be opportunities for a leisurely mountain walk or optional activities. Return to Almaty in the afternoon. The remainder of the day is free for shopping or relaxation
After an early breakfast, depart Almaty and travel eastwards through the spectacular landscapes of southeastern Kazakhstan towards Charyn Canyon, one of the country's most remarkable natural attractions. Upon arrival, enter the famous Valley of Castles, where centuries of wind and water erosion have created towering cliffs and unusual red-rock formations resembling ancient fortress walls. Take a leisurely walk through the canyon and enjoy opportunities for photography while your guide explains the geological and natural significance of the area. After exploring the canyon, continue towards Saty Village, a small mountain settlement that serves as the gateway to the Kolsai Lakes and Kaindy Lake region. Enjoy dinner and relax in the peaceful surroundings of the Kazakh countryside.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic excursion to the magnificent Kolsai Lakes, a chain of alpine lakes surrounded by dense coniferous forests and the mountains of the northern Tian Shan. The area is known for its crystal-clear waters and spectacular natural scenery. Enjoy time at the lake for photography and a leisurely walk along the shoreline. Continue to Kaindy Lake, one of Kazakhstan's most distinctive natural attractions. The lake is famous for the striking trunks of spruce trees that rise dramatically from its turquoise waters, creating an almost surreal landscape. Access to Kaindy normally involves a local 4WD transfer due to the rough mountain roads. After the excursion, begin the journey back towards Almaty, arriving in the evening.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning in Almaty. Depending on the group's preference, there will be free time for shopping, a leisurely walk or enjoying the hotel facilities before transferring to the airport for the domestic flight to Shymkent, one of southern Kazakhstan's major cities. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to the hotel. Later, enjoy a city orientation tour, passing through some of Shymkent's main streets, parks and public spaces. Shymkent has a distinctly southern character and is known for its warmer climate, bazaars and proximity to some of Kazakhstan's most important historical sites. Enjoy dinner and relax at the hotel.
After breakfast, depart for Turkistan, the spiritual and historical heart of Kazakhstan and an important centre along the ancient Silk Road. Upon arrival, visit the magnificent Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, one of Kazakhstan's most important architectural treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mausoleum was commissioned by Timur in the late 14th century and is renowned for its enormous dome, ornate tilework and impressive Islamic architecture. Explore the surrounding historical complex and learn about Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, a revered Sufi spiritual leader whose teachings had a significant influence across Central Asia. Continue exploring the historical area of Turkistan, including its modern cultural facilities and traditional atmosphere. Enjoy dinner before settling into your hotel
After breakfast, depart Turkistan and travel towards the ancient settlement of Otrar, once one of the most important cities along the Silk Road. Explore the archaeological remains of this historic centre and learn how Otrar developed as a major trading, cultural and intellectual hub between East and West. Continue towards Shymkent Airport for your domestic flight to Astana, the futuristic capital of Kazakhstan. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. Astana offers a striking contrast to the historical cities visited earlier in the journey, with its futuristic architecture, wide boulevards and modern landmarks. Enjoy dinner and rest at the hotel.
After breakfast, begin a full-day sightseeing tour of Astana, Kazakhstan's modern capital. Start at Bayterek Tower, one of the city's most recognisable landmarks, symbolising the country's aspirations and future. Continue to Independence Square, where you will see several important national monuments and government buildings. Visit the impressive Hazret Sultan Mosque, one of the largest mosques in Central Asia, and admire its elegant white architecture and grand interior. Continue to the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, a distinctive pyramid-shaped building designed as a centre for cultural and religious dialogue. Drive along the Ishim River and explore the modern administrative and cultural districts of the capital. In the evening, return to the hotel or enjoy dinner at a local restaurant.
After breakfast, continue exploring the modern side of Astana. Visit the EXPO 2017 complex, including the distinctive Nur Alem sphere, which became one of the city's architectural icons after the international exhibition. Continue to Khan Shatyr, the enormous transparent tent-shaped entertainment and shopping centre, where you can enjoy some free time for shopping, coffee or browsing the local and international brands. Depending on the group's interests, additional visits may be arranged to museums, galleries or other landmarks in the city. The afternoon is kept relatively relaxed, allowing guests to enjoy some personal time in Astana. In the evening, gather for a farewell dinner featuring traditional Kazakh cuisine, providing an opportunity to experience local flavours and reflect on the journey through Kazakhstan.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed final day in Astana. Check out from the hotel according to the hotel's standard check-out time and leave your luggage with the hotel. The remainder of the day is free for shopping, sightseeing at your own pace or enjoying a leisurely lunch. For guests interested in further exploration, an optional afternoon visit can be arranged to additional attractions or shopping areas. In the evening, gather for dinner before transferring to Astana International Airport for your departure flight back to Singapore. This late departure provides ample time for a comfortable final day without rushing to the airport.
